A conference for St'át'imc youth is scheduled for Aug. 22-24 at T't'q'et's Julianne Hall.
The gathering will cover a wide range of issues concerning youth, including:
healthy relationships
self defence
total effects of alcohol and other alcohol issues
crystal meth
HIV/AIDS/Sexually transmitted diseases
effects of drugs and alcohol on babies
understanding disabilities
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
Personal testimony on various subjects
Lemya7 John and Ted Napoleon are also scheduled to conduct presentations on St'át'imc culture.
The conference runs from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily; lunch and snacks will be provided and a dinner is planned on Aug. 24.
Local bands and businesses are providing funding for the conference, which hosted 45 youths last year.
